Affordable UPF 50 face and neck coverage
Most anglers armor up their arms and completely forget the neck, ears, and lower face, which is exactly where a long day in the sun does its quiet damage. A gaiter fixes that in one cheap, packable piece, and the KastKing Sol Armis is the value benchmark for anglers who want coverage without spending much.
The fabric is a poly-spandex blend rated UPF 50, so it blocks the same broad spectrum of UV as a good technical shirt but wraps the zones sunscreen slides off first. Because the rating comes from the weave, it keeps protecting whether the gaiter is bone dry or soaked from spray, and a damp gaiter actually feels cooler as it evaporates.
Fit is where cheap gaiters usually fail, and this is where the Sol Armis holds up. The 4-way stretch keeps it snug against the jaw and neck so it does not slide down every time you turn your head to cast, yet it never feels like it is choking you. The same weave wicks sweat and dries fast, so you are not wearing a wet band around your throat by midday.
Versatility is a genuine perk. KastKing markets up to 13 wearing configurations, and while most people settle on two or three, the tube shape really does convert into a face mask, balaclava, hood, or headband depending on wind and sun angle. Color and camo options mean you can match it to a boat or a duck blind.
The honest limits are what you would expect at this price. The fabric is thin, so it is less rugged than heavier gaiters over several hard seasons, and pulled up over the nose it can fog polarized glasses on some faces. Neither is a dealbreaker for a piece this inexpensive that you can keep spares of in every bag.
Bottom line: the KastKing Sol Armis delivers real UPF 50 coverage for the neck, ears, and face at a price low enough to stash one everywhere. It is thin, but the sun protection per dollar is excellent.

The tube is a stretchy poly-spandex blend that fits the large majority of adults comfortably. Anglers with very large necks or heads may find it snug, but the 4-way stretch gives it a usable range.
Any gaiter pulled over the nose can push warm breath upward. Wearing it just below the nose, or seating your glasses over the fabric edge, largely solves the fogging on most faces.
The rating comes from the fabric weave, so it protects wet or dry. A wet gaiter also has the bonus of feeling cooler through evaporation on hot days.
Realistically most anglers use two or three shapes, neck gaiter, face mask, and headband, but the tube design does let you configure it as a balaclava, hood, or bandana when you want.
Cold wash and air dry. Skip the dryer and fabric softener; heat and softeners break down the spandex that gives the gaiter its stretch and fit.
